Ed Henry, the Alabama Republican state representative who said Roy Moore’s accusers should be prosecuted, is walking that back, saying that his words were “taken out of context.”
“We were talking more along the lines of, in theory of people who are quiet about things that know are responsible,” Henry told CNN’s Anderson Cooper. Henry also claimed that Moore “is the victim” and questioned the timing of the accusations.
“It is disingenuous in my opinion for 50-something-year-old women to come forward four weeks prior to a major senatorial election,” Henry said.
“If he had anything like this in his past, it would’ve come out by now,” Henry continued. “And here we are right before a huge election with national implications between a Republican and a Democrat. All of sudden this is headline news. I am not buying it. It is political. It is political at every level.”
“The quote is being misconstrued,” Henry insisted. “That’s not the context of the conversation.” Henry said that “every single leftist group” hates Roy Moore” then again said that that the accusations are “political.”

“If they believe this man is predatory, they are guilty of allowing him to exist for 40 years. I think someone should prosecute and go after them,” Henry was quoted as saying Friday. “You can’t be a victim 40 years later, in my opinion.”
Leigh Corfman, the woman who said she was 14-years-old when Moore allegedly inappropriately touched her, has had others back up her version of events. Her ex-boyfriend said that during the time they dated, she told him about a sexual encounter with Moore when she was a teenager.
Mike Ortiz says he dated Corfman (Roy Moore’s accuser) for 2 years around 2009.
He says during that time, she told him about a sexual encounter w/ Moore when she was young.
Again: Moore calls these claims “completely false & a desperate political attack.”#ALSen pic.twitter.com/T9iCDiIkJr

The explosive report was backed up by 30 people, not including the 4 accusers. Corfman, for the record, voted for Donald Trump in 2016.
