Chaffetz: Constituents Who Told Me To Do My Job At Town Hall Tried To ‘Bully’ Me (VIDEO)

On Thursday during a town hall meeting, Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R-Utah) was shouted down by constituents that want alleged president Donald Trump investigated over his conflicts of interest. That is Chaffetz’s job as chairman of the House Oversight Committee and Government Reform Committee. Still yet, earlier this week, Chaffetz vowed to continue the investigation into Hillary Clinton’s private email server.

Chaffetz said the constituents who disrupted his Thursday town hall were “a paid attempt to bully and intimidate.”

“You could see it online a couple days before, a concerted effort in part to just cause chaos,” Chaffetz said Friday, according to “Democrats are in disbelief that they have nothing but flailing and screaming to deal with this.”

Chaffetz said that without offering any proof to back up his claim.

The crowd demanded that Chaffetz investigate Trump in the same way he did Hillary Clinton.

“I’ll never satisfy their desire to bring down Donald Trump. I’ll never satisfy that. It will never be good enough,” he said, then claimed (falsely) that the president is exempt from conflict of interest laws and his business interests have long been widely known. Earlier this month, Chaffetz made that same claim.

“People are asking me to use the power of Congress to do a full-on fishing expedition to investigate him personally on things that are not required by law. I think my doing that would be an abuse of power,” Chaffetz said.

Chaffetz said while it’s “important that people have an opportunity to voice their concerns, I think they should be somewhat embarrassed by how a lot of people handled themselves.”

“And I did hear them, but it was hard to hear through all the shouting and yelling,” he said while claiming the protesters interrupted the Pledge of Allegiance even though online video shows that’s not true.

“That’s who these people are,” he said. “We’re better than that. That’s not what the average Utahn is like.”

Chaffetz is the one who should feel embarrassed for not doing his job. He looks like a partisan tool right now, defending an alleged president who is now plagued in scandal while still going after the former secretary of state even after the election.

He appears to have forgotten when tea partiers descended on Town Hall meetings to protest Obamacare as they shouted down Democratic lawmakers who were trying to explain it to constituents. He’s getting a taste of his own party’s medicine. Open wide, Jason Chaffetz, but first take Trump’s dick out of your mouth. Then read up on the Emoluments Clause.
