A Georgia mayor was shot in the head in his home and was pronounced dead at the Atlanta Medical Center.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation has been called in to investigate after the mayor of Clarkesville’s shooting death, according to.11 Alive.
Mayor Terry Greene was transported to Habersham Medical Center, then airlifted to Atlanta Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

Greene’s wife, Anne, was present in the home when he was shot and Sheriff Joey Terrell said that officials believe the injury was the result of a domestic dispute but the details on that have not been released yet. His wife has been questioned but she is not in custody.
The Clarkesville City Council and City Manager released this statement:
We are all devastated by the tragic loss of our mayor, colleague, and friend Dr. Terry Greene. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and we ask that you please respect their privacy during this difficult time. We thank you for the outpouring of prayers and support. We have no further comments at this time.”
Greene was elected as mayor in 2005 and again in 2009 and was also a physician.
He leaves behind four children and his wife.
