GOP Congressman Matt Gaetz (FL) is sick and tired of people saying he’s a wacko bird right-wing conspiracy theorist. He’s had just about enough of it, so he decided he’d air his complaints on the show that specializes in bizarro, tinfoil hat craziness: Alex Jones’ InfoWars.
During an appearance Monday, Gaetz told Jones that the ongoing investigation of Donald Trump by Special Counsel Robert Mueller should instead be focused on Hillary Clinton.
Gaetz also revealed what he hoped Trump will talk about in Tuesday’s State of the Union address:
“You know what I think would be very interesting, Alex, is if at the State of the Union, the president announced that he was supportive of the release of this [Nunes] memo following the Intelligence Committee’s potential vote this evening. I think that would be just fantastic… it’s the kind of populism that got Donald Trump elected.”
Jones eagerly seconded what his guest had just said, adding:
“Hillary and the globalists have committed all these crimes, there should be more investigations, something should be done, they’re always going to come back if we don’t.
Is somebody going to get indicted over the made-up Russiagate crimes?”
But it was what Gaetz said later in the interview about being called a conspiracy theorist that should be nominated for the ironic statement of the decade:
“We’re called conspiracy theorists because we see this cabal right in front of us. We’re able to aggregate these data points and show what was really going on. The reality is we’re just looking at the very messages that the people that were at the center of the Hillary Clinton investigation and the center of Robert Mueller’s investigation were saying to one another.”
No matter how much evidence, intelligence information, or how many eyewitnesses Robert Mueller presents when he issues his report at the end of his investigation, you can count on one thing: Trump and his defenders will scream about how unfair it all is and then try to place the blame on Hillary.
As Trump himself loves to say in his tweets: SAD!
