President Obama let loose on Tuesday saying that although Donald Trump gets most of the most attention, the rest of the Republican presidential field is just as bad. Obama is saying that the GOP is Trump. Deal with it.
Obama spoke very bluntly while at a press conference in California during a trade summit of Southeast Asian leaders, and said that the job of President of the United States is “hard,” and nothing like ” hosting a talk show or a reality show,” in an apparent jab at Trump who starred in the reality TV show The Apprentice, according to Time.
Obama continued to say that foreign observers are “troubled” by the rhetoric in the Republican race, particularly about climate change.
“I find it interesting that everyone’s focused on Mr. Trump, primarily because he says in more interesting ways what the other candidates are saying as well,” Obama told reporters, according to Talking Points Memo.“And so he may up the ante in anti-Muslim sentiment, but if you look at what the other Republican candidates have said, that’s pretty troubling, too.”
“They’re all denying climate change. I think that’s troubling to the international community, since the science is unequivocal,” he continued.
Obama said “this is not just Mr. Trump.”
Obama, “Mr. Trump will not become President.”
Before reminding reporters that the man or woman who becomes the next president will have access to the nuclear codes, as well as the power to send young people to war, he said, “As you get closer, reality has a way of intruding.”
“The American people are pretty sensible,” Obama added. ” I think they’ll make a sensible choice in the end.”
Thank you, Mr, President. We were kind of worried about Trump having his fingers on the nuclear codes, as well as Sarah Palin, who he has said he would welcome in his administration.
Lame Duck, my ass.
