A Fox & Friends segment went really, really badly on Monday when the network thought they booked a pro-ICE Democratic congressional candidate but instead, ended up with an entirely different candidate. Sacha Baron Cohen couldn’t have set this up better. They thought they booked Democratic congressional candidate Ann Kirkpatrick, who is all in for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) but they landed Barbara L’Italien instead and the hosts seemed really confused when she came out as against caging babies.
The Democratic state senator (MA) addressed Donald Trump.
“I’m actually here to speak directly to Donald Trump,” L’Italien said, according to ThinkProgress. “I feel that what’s happening at the border is wrong. I’m a mother of four, and I believe that separating kids from their parents is illegal and inhumane.”
After calling her Ann Kirkpatrick again, L’Italien corrected the hosts.
“I’m actually Barbara L’Italien, I’m a state senator representing a large immigrant community. I’m running for Congress in Massachusetts,” she continued. “I keep thinking about what we’re putting parents through, imagining how terrifying that must be for those families, imagining how it would feel not knowing if I’d ever see my kids again. We have to stop abducting children and ripping them from their parents’ arms, stop putting kids in cages, and stop making 3-year-old defend themselves in court.”

The hosts, thinking it would be a softball interview with a pro-ICE candidate, looked really confused.
“Kids have been reunited with their families,” host Jillian Mele said, without bursting into flames, because it’s a straight up lie. Some have been reunited, but over 2,000 abducted children are still waiting to be reunited with their families.
Just got back from Texas.
Families are still being separated.
Parents are still being deported.
Children are still in cages.
Congress has ONE WEEK to pass our bill to reunify these families before going on a month-long break.

“Again my name is Barbara L’Italien and I refuse to believe that our only options are open borders or traumatizing childr–” L’Italien said, then her feed was cut.
“That didn’t go as planned,” host Rob Schmitt said, then the show went on break.
So, how did this happen? Welp, L’Italien’s campaign said it was because of a “lack of due diligence” on the network’s part and added that “This would not have happened to an actual news station.”
Some of those kidnapped children may never be reunited with their families, by the way.
