For the first time, jeweler Tiffany & Co. is featuring a same-sex couple in an ad campaign. I’m sure some sort of Republican-led boycott will follow.
In the new campaign, seven scenes of couples at different stages of their relationships, with a few twists, will be featured.
One scene features a same-sex couple about to commit to marriage. The pair, shown sitting on a stoop in New York City, are a real couple, not models, according to a Tiffany spokesperson. Another photo shows a couple getting married with their child at their side.
The photos are a celebration of modern love, creating scenes that show love comes in a variety of forms, spokeswoman Linda Buckley said.
“Nowadays, the road to marriage is no longer linear and true love can happen more than once with love stories coming in a variety of forms,” spokeswoman Linda Buckley said.
“All of these scenes have a unifying theme: they capture a moment in time when couples experience an intimate connection, an acknowledgment that yes, this person is the one, now and forever.”
The “Will You?” campaign is certainly good publicity. Same sex marriages are already bringing in revenue for states that have allowed two gay people who are in love to marry.
So, where are the lightening bolts? Shooting they shooting down from the sky, aiming straight at our faces because we dared to mock GOP Jesus?

This guy is super-smart:
I think Mike, a commenter at the Washington Post, is trying to say something.
I’m sure Pat Robertson will weigh in soon because why not. Gay people have been blamed for everything already. AIDS, wars, disease, violence, it’s all because of them, them, them!
