Donald Trump’s sorry excuse for a presidential administration really doesn’t care about anything it is supposed to care about. They constantly put America’s national security in jeopardy, all for the sake of political expediency. Case in point — the intention to release a memo regarding the supposed misconduct of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) with regard to the investigation of potential ties between Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign and the Russian government.
The GOP members of the Intelligence Committee of the House of Representatives recently voted to release a memo intended to undercut and discredit the FBI with regards to this investigation, but, at the same time, are refusing to release the Democratic side’s rebuttal to it, in a laughable attempt at so-called “transparency.” Now, the FBI is warning that what the House Republicans — and now the White House, which has said it will comply and release the GOP memo — are about to do raises, quote “grave concerns” about the nation’s security if they are to do this. The FBI says of the potential release:
“With regard to the House Intelligence Committee’s memorandum, the FBI was provided a limited opportunity to review this memo the day before the committee voted to release it.”
“As expressed during our initial review, we have grave concerns about material omissions of fact that fundamentally impact the memo’s accuracy.”
So, in other words, people at the FBI understand that this is a terrible idea, that it is dangerous, and the Republicans are doing it anyway. The nation be damned, the FBI be damned — they’re on Team Trump. This is going to endanger the nation, but so be it.
That matters not to the Republican Party — especially those in the House of Representatives. They are much more concerned about protecting Trump’s disgraceful tenure in the White House and preventing his impeachment, and preventing their own party from becoming the minority — even if it means imperiling the security of the United States of America in the process.
If you want a party in charge that actually gives a damn about the nation rather than their own political power, elect Democrats. These Republicans are greedy, craven bastards who would sell us out to the highest bidder in a heartbeat. They showed us that when they put Donald Trump in the Oval Office, knowing he was woefully unfit for the job. They are not to be trusted. Now, what are we going to do about it?
